1. Subversion Konferenz 2007

Powerworkshop

Title of the Workshop: The Definitive Subversion 1.5 Workshop – presented by the creators of Subversion and CollabNet

Date and Time: 15.10.2007 - 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.

Abstract: Subversion is quickly emerging as the new standard in version management. This practical workshop for software developers, project leads and development managers provides an in-depth review of Subversion’s capabilities, its architecture, integration and fit with corporate development systems. Most importantly, the creators of Subversion are on hand to preview for the first time in public the new branch and merge management capabilities that will become available in the upcoming release of Subversion 1.5. Additionally, the general use of Subversion from the Eclipse environment through the way it is deployed to its use beyond code development will be discussed. Finally, this Subversion workshop will explore at other improvements the Subversion Open Source project may offer to software development teams and how to best deploy Subversion as part of a broader software development platform.

Goal: Upon successful completion of this workshop, attendees should have a good understanding of what is coming in Subversion 1.5 in order to better plan on how to best roll out and deploy this functionality in their distributed development organizations. The workshop will also expose the attendees to broader concerns like deployment, utilization beyond code development and realizing benefits beyond just Subversion the tool.

Prerequisites: Attendees should have a basic knowledge of Subversion as well as a basic understanding of software engineering concepts.

Audience: Developers, project leads, software architects, configuration managers.
